How to Solve Meowdoku Level 1
To solve this puzzle, we must rely on the X-marked cells and the basic rules: one cat per row, column, and colored region, with no cats touching each other horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
Let's start by looking at the first row. Three of the four cells here are blocked by an X. The only available spot is the dark yellow cell. Place the cat in row 1, column 3. This perfectly satisfies the single-cell dark yellow region and completes the first row.
Next, examine the second row. Similar to the first row, three of its cells are blocked by an X. The only open space is the pink cell at the far left. Place the cat in row 2, column 1. This logically fills the one-cell pink region and completes the second row without touching the first cat.
Now, look at the fourth column on the far right side of the board. The top two cells have an X, and the bottom cell also has an X. Because every column requires exactly one cat, there is only one valid cell remaining in this column. Place the cat in row 3, column 4. This move also successfully places a cat in the three-cell purple region.
Finally, we need to complete the fourth row. We must avoid placing a cat in any column that already has one, and we must ensure no cats touch diagonally. Column 1 is blocked by the cat in row 2. Column 3 is blocked by the cat in row 1. The cell in row 4, column 4 is marked with an X. This leaves exactly one safe space. Place the cat in row 4, column 2.
This final placement fills the large light yellow region, respects all spacing rules, and completes the board!
