How to Solve Meowdoku Level 87

Start by looking for the most restricted area on the board. The magenta region consists of only a single cell. Place the cat in row 7, column 2.

This placement blocks column 2 and heavily restricts the teal region in the bottom left. The only safe teal cells are now in row 9. Since column 2 is occupied, place the cat in row 9, column 1.

Next, examine the purple region in the bottom right. With rows 7 and 9 completely filled by previous placements, the purple region is forced to use row 8. Place the cat in row 8, column 7.

Now analyze the yellow region on the left side. With columns 1 and 2 filled, and row 7 blocked, yellow must use row 5. To avoid diagonally blocking the light green region's only remaining valid options in row 6, place the cat in row 5, column 3.

This leaves exactly one safe position for the light green region in that area without touching the yellow cat diagonally. Place the cat in row 6, column 5.

The gold region on the far right must use column 9, which forces the brown region to use column 8. Since row 5 is already occupied by the yellow cat, the brown region must take row 4. Place the cat in row 4, column 8.

With several columns now filled, the large pink region is forced to use column 4. Its only available cell in that column is at the very top. Place the cat in row 1, column 4.

The gold region still needs a cat in column 9. Row 3 is diagonally blocked by the brown cat sitting in row 4, column 8. Because cats cannot touch diagonally, place the cat in row 2, column 9.

Finally, the dark green region is left with the last remaining open row and column intersection. Place the cat in row 3, column 6.
