How to Solve Meowdoku Level 5

To start solving, we first look for colored regions that only consist of a single cell, as these leave no other options for placement.

There are four distinct single-cell regions on this board. For the purple region, place the cat in row 2, column 8. To satisfy the mustard yellow region, place the cat in row 6, column 1. For the magenta region, place the cat in row 7, column 4. Finally, for the light pink region, place the cat in row 8, column 2.

These first four placements eliminate rows 2, 6, 7, and 8, as well as columns 1, 2, 4, and 8 from consideration.

Next, look at the large orange region on the left side of the board. The filled columns 1 and 2, along with the occupied bottom rows, block almost all of its cells. The only unblocked cell remaining in the orange region is in the fifth row. Place the cat in row 5, column 3.

This leaves rows 1, 3, and 4, and columns 5, 6, and 7. Now analyze the yellow region on the right side. The cell at row 3, column 7 is eliminated because it diagonally touches the existing cat at row 2, column 8, which violates the no-touch rule. This restricts the yellow region to row 4. To avoid diagonally touching the required center space, place the cat in row 4, column 7.

With row 4 and column 7 now occupied, check the light green region in the center. Its only remaining legal space is in the third row. Place the cat in row 3, column 5.

Finally, we must fulfill the dark green region at the top. Only the first row and sixth column are left completely open. Place the cat in row 1, column 6.
