How to Solve Meowdoku Level 8

Start with the easiest clues on the 8x8 board: the single-cell colored regions. Since every colored region must contain exactly one cat, these three placements are forced right from the beginning.

First, place a cat in row 3, column 2 to solve the purple region. Next, place a cat in row 5, column 8 to solve the yellow region. Finally, place a cat in row 8, column 6 for the dark pink region.

With those anchors set, examine the pink region in the top right. Column 8 is already restricted by your row 5 cat, and column 6 is restricted by your row 8 cat. To ensure cats do not share a column or touch diagonally, place the pink region’s cat safely in row 2, column 7.

Next, focus on the dark green region. The right side of the board is heavily restricted by the cats in columns 6, 7, and 8. To avoid touching any existing cats or sharing their rows and columns, place the dark green cat in row 6, column 5.

Move to the light green region spanning the middle of the board. You need a space that respects the no-touch rule and avoids the occupied columns 2 and 5. Place the light green cat in row 4, column 4.

For the large brown region in the top left, the cats in columns 2 and 4 restrict the lower half of the shape. Place the brown cat at the top in row 1, column 3.

Finally, resolve the orange region in the bottom left. With most columns occupied and diagonal touching prohibited by the nearby cats, the only remaining valid cell is row 7, column 1.
