How to Solve Meowdoku Level 17

The best way to begin is by looking for the most restricted areas on the board.

Notice the distinct mustard-colored region consisting of just a single cell. Because every region must contain exactly one cat, your first move is guaranteed. Place the cat in row 2, column 2.

This placement is powerful because cats cannot touch each other, even diagonally. It heavily restricts the dark green region directly above and beside it. To keep a safe distance while staying within the dark green area, place the cat in row 1, column 5.

Next, look at the small blue region on the right side of row 4. To leave room for adjacent rows, place the cat in row 4, column 7. With rows 1, 2, and 4 now containing cats, the dark pink region in the top right is forced. Place the cat in row 3, column 9.

Now turn your attention to the large brown region along the left edge. With several upper rows already occupied or blocked by diagonal rules, the middle becomes the prime target. Place the cat in row 5, column 1.

Moving toward the bottom left, locate the tiny two-cell purple region. Place the cat in row 8, column 4 to satisfy this color without disrupting the lower columns.

We still need to fill the light green region. To avoid touching the cats in columns 1 and 4, place the cat in row 6, column 3.

Only two colored regions remain: the sprawling light yellow area and the bottom pink area. To balance the remaining open rows and columns, place the cat in row 7, column 8 for the yellow region. Finally, complete the puzzle by satisfying the bottom pink region. Place the cat in row 9, column 6.
