How to Solve Meowdoku Level 4

To crack this 6x6 grid, start by looking for colored regions that consist of only a single cell. These are guaranteed starting points because every region must contain exactly one cat.

First, locate the small purple region on the right side of the board. Because it only has one square, place the cat in row 3, column 6. Next, find the dark yellow region near the bottom center. It is also just a single square. Place the cat in row 5, column 4. Similarly, spot the dark pink region in the bottom left area. Place the cat in row 6, column 2.

With three cats on the board, use the "no-touch" rule and column restrictions to figure out the remaining spots. Cats cannot share a row or column, and they cannot touch each other, even diagonally.

Let's evaluate row 4.

  • Columns 2, 4, and 6 are blocked because cats already exist in those specific columns.
  • Column 3 is blocked because it diagonally touches the cat at row 5, column 4.
  • Column 5 is blocked because it touches both the cat at row 5, column 4 and the cat at row 3, column 6. This leaves only one valid spot. Place the cat in row 4, column 1.

Next, focus on row 2. You still need a cat here, and only columns 3 and 5 lack a cat overall. If you test column 5, you'll see it diagonally touches the cat sitting in row 3, column 6, making it invalid. Therefore, place the cat in row 2, column 3.

Finally, you have exactly one row and one column left to fill: row 1 and column 5. This space safely sits in the yellow region. Place the cat in row 1, column 5 to successfully complete the board.
