How to Solve Meowdoku Level 14

The best way to start this puzzle is by scanning the board for colored regions that only consist of a single cell, as these guarantee a starting move.

First, locate the small purple region consisting of exactly one cell. Place the cat in row 7, column 5. This eliminates all other cells in row 7 and column 5. It also blocks the diagonally adjacent cells so no other cats can touch it. Next, find the dark magenta region near the top right, which is also a single cell. Place the cat in row 2, column 6.

With row 7 eliminated by the purple cat, look at the gold region in the lower-left area. The three bottom cells of this region are crossed out by the row rule. Therefore, place the cat in row 6, column 2.

Now examine the light green region in the center. Because column 5 and column 6 are entirely blocked by our earlier placements, the right side of this shape is unusable. Place the cat in row 3, column 4.

Moving to the light pink region on the left, rows 2 and 3 are blocked by existing cats and the no-touch diagonal rules. This forces the pink cat into the bottom corner of its shape. Place the cat in row 4, column 1.

Next, focus on the massive dark green region along the bottom. With columns 1, 2, and 4 blocked, and the upper rows restricted by touch rules, you must place the cat in row 8, column 3 to avoid interfering with the remaining columns on the right.

For the yellow region, row 8 and row 6 are now taken. The only safe spot that respects the logic rules is higher up. Place the cat in row 5, column 7.

Finally, look at the blue region along the top and outer edges. With seven cats securely placed, only one intersection of an empty row and an empty column remains. Place the cat in row 1, column 8 to complete the board.
